July 2008 saw the recording of Jane’s acoustic album, ‘Through the Valley’. In this collection Jane bares her soul about her own life’s journey so far. The songs come as part of an evening which takes us on a journey with Jane, looking at the depth and richness, tears and laughter which weave together the tapestries of our lives. Jane has already begun taking this evening to various venues but is still available to book; please see the contact details below. Spring 2009 saw her working on the follow up to 2007’s ‘Keep Your Feet Still’, a collection of traditional Tyneside songs and readings which saw Jane working again with Dez Minto (Yfriday) and collaborating with her Dad, with whom she performs at various groups and venues in the Tyneside area under the name of ‘Singin’ Hinnies’. This second album is called ‘Ca’ Hawkie’ and includes many new favourites! Both collections reflect the humour and warmth of Tyneside life in years gone by. These songs are performed at various local groups and events across Tyneside in the Spring and Summer; for details of how to book ‘Singin’ Hinnies’ or a ‘Through the Valley’ evening, please email info@jane-kitson.co.uk Other events this year have included co-leading worship at the National Baptist Assembly in Bournemouth at the ICC , 01- 04 May 2009, at Pentecost Praise, Brunswick Methodist Church, Newcastle, June 6th 2009 and at the Incarnate Conference in Newcastle, June 18-20th 2009, organised by AquilaWay and Faithworks. This Autumn will see Jane leading worship at Mind the Gap on September 20th as well as fulfilling private bookings for the ‘Singin’ Hinnies’ and ‘Through the Valley’ evenings. Next July she will be leading worship at the Wesley Summer School at St. John’s College, Durham. As worship co-ordinator at her local church, Jane also leads worship most Sundays at Heworth Christian Fellowship, and often goes with members of the music group to lead worship at other local churches of all denominations.
